Welcome to RightBin! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RightBin mobile application (the "App"), our website located at https://rightbin.app (the "Site"), and related services (collectively, the "Services").

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING OUR SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES.

If you reside in the United States, please note that Section 11 of these Terms contains a binding arbitration agreement and class action waiver that details your rights to resolve disputes with us.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your country) to create an account and use the Services. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Services.
  • Account Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during account registration. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (including OAuth logins linked to Google or Apple) and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Security Notification: You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or security breach at [email protected].

2. Description of Services

RightBin is a personal inventory cataloging tool designed to help users track physical possessions, manage storage containers, log asset details (e.g., costs, serial numbers), generate reports, print QR code labels, and optional GPS coordinates.

RightBin reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services (including adding or removing features, changing storage limits, or altering subscription models) at any time without prior notice or liability.

3. User Content & Data Ownership

a. Ownership

You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights over any text, item details, cost values, photographs, location coordinates, and other materials you upload, submit, or store through our Services ("User Content"). We claim no ownership over your User Content.

b. License to RightBin

By uploading or submitting User Content, you grant RightBin a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid-up license to host, store, process, reproduce, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing, operating, and improving the Services for you and those you invite to share your vaults. This license terminates when you delete your User Content or close your account.

c. Content Standards

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to use and upload the User Content. You agree not to upload any User Content that:

  • Is illegal, fraudulent, or promotes unlawful activities (including cataloging stolen goods in violation of law).
  • Infringes on the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of third parties.
  • Contains viruses, malicious code, or files designed to disrupt the functionality of the Services.

4. Subscription Plans, Billing & Entitlements

a. RightBin Pro

RightBin offers a premium subscription tier ("RightBin Pro") which grants access to advanced capabilities such as unlimited vaults, increased asset photo uploads, and premium document generation features.

b. Transactions and Payments

Subscriptions are processed through the mobile platform app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) and managed via RevenueCat.

  • Billing & Renewal: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) as selected by you. Subscriptions automatically renew at the current price unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations must be completed directly through your Apple ID or Google Play Store account settings. Upon cancellation, your Pro features will remain active until the end of your prepaid billing period.
  • Refunds: All purchases are final and non-refundable. Any requests for refunds must be submitted directly to the respective App Store (Apple or Google), as RightBin does not process payments or handle direct financial refunds.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors:

  • Attempting to bypass database filters, security barriers, or Row Level Security (RLS) policies.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the source code of the App or Site.
  • Using automated crawlers, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access, scrape, or extract data from the database.
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade subscription tiers, file size limits, or vault count caps.
  • Sharing invitation tokens with unauthorized parties, or abusing vault sharing capabilities.

6. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT LIMITS OUR LIABILITY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

a. "As-Is" Service

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. RIGHTBIN DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

b. Asset Damage & Financial Disclaimers

RIGHTBIN IS AN ORGANIZATIONAL TOOL FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE. RIGHTBIN DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE PHYSICAL SAFETY, SECURITY, OR RETRIEVAL OF YOUR INVENTORIED ITEMS. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • Physical damage, theft, loss, or misplacement of your cataloged items, storage bins, or vaults.
  • Any inaccuracies in asset values, costs, serial numbers, or coordinates logged in the App.
  • The rejection, denial, or underpayment of any insurance claims related to assets logged within RightBin. You are solely responsible for verifying your inventory logs, keeping physical receipts, and verifying insurance policies directly with your insurance provider.
  • Data loss, corruption, or database server downtime. We highly encourage you to utilize the PDF document export feature to regularly save offline copies of your inventory manifests.

c. Liability Cap

IN NO EVENT SHALL RIGHTBIN, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO RIGHTBIN IN SUBSCRIPTION FEES DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RightBin and its officers, directors, and employees from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Services, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and restrict your access to the Services, at our sole discretion, without notice or liability, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that harms other users or the Services.

You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting your account and discontinuing all use of the Services. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease, and all User Content in your vaults may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

10. Dispute Resolution & Binding Arbitration

For any dispute with RightBin, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

If the dispute is not resolved informally within sixty (60) days, both parties agree to resolve any claim, dispute, or controversy arising out of or in connection with these Terms through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in San Diego, California.

CLASS ACTION WAIVER: YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.

11. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and RightBin regarding the Services.
